19 week bump

Here we are at 19 weeks:)
I'm dependent on maternity pants cause my bump makes it so I can't zip normal ones up... baby is making room! Haven't felt it move yet - but that should be soon.

Next week we find out what it is!!! We can't wait!

September 4th

Our 3 year anniversary is the day we find out if it's a boy or a girl and we couldn't ask for a better present!

We are taking the day off, going out to breakfast (one of our favorite dates) and then going to the doctor for the 20 week ultrasound!

So far the doctor says we are healthy and growing on schedule. They took some more blood last visit and I have one more blood test for gestational diabetes that will be done later, and then we are all done with the testing.

4 weeks until we know whether it's a mini me or a mini dave!

We will start scoping out furniture and baby essentials soon. We have already started cleanting up around the apartment to try to make some space for baby this weekend and will figure out what changes we should make to the office to make it into a nursery.

Hope you're all doing well and that we get to see you soon!

Cravings!!!

Cereal! It's one of the things that I can always eat - no matter how I'm feeling.

I sort of went on a cereal binge early on in the pregnancy and bought all kinds of cereal cause I thought I needed it:)

Lately, my heart belongs to Rice Krispies, and I enjoy it when I'm hungry but not really interested in food!

I haven't really had too many other cravings - it's more like I know exactly what foods I don't want to eat - but have a hard time thinking of things that I do want to eat. Certain foods make me feel nauseous - but luckily it's manageable and I don't suffer from morning sickness!:)

Poor Dave has to put up with the chances that he might make me dinner that sounded good before we cooked it, but once it's made... makes me queasy - He's been such a great sport and always offers to get me some cereal instead:)

Here is our little bump at 15 weeks. I really had to push it out so you could see it! Although I'm anxious to start actually showing - I will enjoy the fact that I am still in my regular clothes for the most part - for as long as I can!!!

Have a great weekend!

How we found out:)

On the plane ride back from our San Francisco adventure (http://www.oursfexperience.blogspot.com/) Dave and I started talking about wanting to start thinking about having a baby. We talked about it for probably half the plane ride back from Las Vegas and at the end of the discussion, we had decided that we thought it was a good time to start trying and see if we would be lucky enough to add a baby to our family.

When we got home in April, we started all the preliminary planning of taking pre-natal vitamins and going to the doctor. I even went to the dentist because everyone says you shouldn't go when you are pregnant, so I wanted to make sure I was all set:)

I went to see the doctor and she was delighted to hear that we were ready to add a baby to our family. (Our doctor is a bit weird, and was always telling me how I was built for babies)

In Mid-May, we went to Mobile, Alabama for Luke's First Birthday Bash with the Murphy/Paynes. While we were gone, it was supposed to be that time of the month for me... and every day we were down there... nothing happened.

So, every day... Dave and I would laugh at the idea that we could possibly be cookin a little peanut - but never really taking it seriously- after all it had only been one month.

The week went by, and still nothing, so slowly and sneakily, I stopped having coffee, or alcohol or anything I thought could be bad if we were in fact pregnant.

Everyone got colds while we were down there, so we were all tired and napped alot, so we didn't think anything of the fact that I was sleeping too. Plus we were very busy visiting New Orleans and all of Lukes family in Mobile.

We hadn't told anyone yet that we were trying, so we had to keep quiet until we could find out ourselves.

We got on the plane to come home, and still nothing. We were dying to get home to take a preganancy test to be sure, because we both really couldn't believe that it was true.

The plane got delayed... and I was so nervous and anxious.

We finally got home after a very nice vacation and I stopped for something to drink for the car ride and as soon as we got back inside and said goodbye to the Paynes, I ran to the bathroom to take the test.

Let me tell you, in the movies, it takes forever for the little plus or minus sign to show... NOT SO for me.. .It was an INSTANT +.

We still couldn't believe it. We were so happy and excited but thought there was no way... so we went to bed and I tried again in the morning... just to be sure - and sure enough I got another intant positive.

And so our journey began!

We wanted to wait until we got the all clear from our doctor, so we didn't tell most people until around the 9th week mark, after the doctor had seen the heartbeat for the second time.

Here are the first pictures of our baby!!!

We're Pregnant

Guess What???

We're Pregnant!!!!

These are the pictures we took of our parents when we told them that we were expecting. Luckily we found out the week before we were going to see all of them in person. It was so hard not telling them as soon as we found out, but we wanted to see their faces for ourselves, and as you can see... it was well worth the wait!!!

As you can tell, they were very, very surprised and super excited!!! ____________________________________________________________________
