Doctors apppointment went well. It was a simple check up - he checked the babies heart beat and told us he was in the correct positionwhich is good. Next tuesday morning we do our final ultrasound and we should see if anything is starting to happen.
They moved my due date up to March 23 - and the ultrasound will give us an even better idea of what the due date is - I am predicting that he will show up the week of the 15th! I am getting anxious as I'd kind of just like him to be here already so that we can get Katie ready and start getting used to it. I'm afraid we have been talking about it for so long that as much as she gets it... it's gonna be hard to comprehend when he actually comes home.
I have stocked up on a bunch of stuff for us at the house so we don't have to run out too much once we all get home from the hospital and Katie and I are at my parents house for a few days so Dave can work late and I can rest. (she's very very active lately and just wants someone to run after her which I clearly can't do)
More info to come Tuesday after our next appointment :)

Brother Baby's Corner
After weeks and weeks or cleaning, de-cluttering, re-organizing and spending crazy amounts of money to get this place organized and ready - we finally have a living room we love and a corner for brother baby in our bedroom.
Of course the theme that we picked for his part of the room is being discontinued, which means we are having a hard time finding stuff we wanted - but it's ok - at the end of the day it's really not a big deal.
We set up his pack and play which has a super nifty "napping" station and a changing table on it. We got some itty bitty little diapers and wipes and washed all his clothes and I'm even getting ready to pack some clothes to bring to the hospital for him in my overnight bag.
Since I have NO idea what size he is.. it's hard to tell if he will fit in newborn clothes or 0-3 - so hopefully our ultrasound next week will give us a clue!
As for Katie - she is starting to test us. Which, I know developmentally, is what she needs to be doing - but it's really irritating when your pregnant and uncomfortable and have a short fuse.
She isn't anywhere near poorly behaved like I have seen some kids at her age, but she pics certain things that we tell her not to do and she does it....
Like sticking her hand in her cereal bowl to play with the milk and running all over the house at night when we tell her it's too late to run because they can hear her downstairs and it's rude.
Running is all she wants to do now. I feel bad we don't live in a single family because then we could let her run to her hearts content - but we try hard to keep it to a minimum at night which is unfortunate because that is when she wants to run the most.
She is also starting to pick up habits from other kids that she won't stop - like making funny noises and doing things with her mouth that result in spitting.... this bugs the hell out of me and she knows it - so she does it at mealtime, which is always stressful enough as it is just trying to get her to focus to eat.
So... we have had to start giving her time outs and try to take things away from her as punishment. So far, she thinks time outs are fun - so it's lose lose. bummer.
But this is what I usually feel like by 4:00 on most days lately between my hormones, exhaustion, largeness and Katie testing me all day on everything and telling me just how much stuff she "doesn't want" to do.

As for me, I have a docs appointment on tuesday and dave and katie both come with me this time. We are in the home stretch and I have to say I am ready to have this baby already. I miss having the ability to stand up without effort and sleep comfortably and chase after Katie without feeling sore and achy. I'm tired all the time and ready for us to be a foursome so that we can stop talking about brother baby already and actually have him here!
It's a 3 day weekend for us - so hopefully tomorrow we can do some fun crafts, take some stuff we need out of the attic and relax as it will be one of our last relaxing, quiet weekends for awhile!
Happy Saturday!

Getting Ready for 2
Katie didn't want the frosting from Mia's birthday cupcake.... picky picky!
Some of my nesting crafts - I'm unstoppable. Dave laughs at me - but I seriously am like obsessed with making play food.
We have slowly but surely been getting ready for Mr. Man to arrive by re-organizing the whole apartment from kitchen to bathroom:) Today Dave and I are going to go out and buy him some decorations for his side of the room so that he has his own place to come home to. We have SO MUCH stuff already set up, but we feel like we need to try to make it extra special to be for him and not just be Katie's left over stuff.
We just found out that Luvs changed their diaper - so we had to take 2 cases that we had bought to get ready back to the store and look for the OLD blues clues design because apparently the new and improved ones are HORRIBLE And are getting nothing but bad reviews.
So, off to find some pooh stuff we go as we are going to keep Dave's old Pooh blanket from when he was a kid and decorate around that.
My next doctors appointment is in a week and a half (which I think is a bit far away - but am not worried) and then we have our final ultra sound in 2 weeks.
This week we have to go fill out paperwork for the hospital and do a tour -so I guess it's getting pretty real and is really just around the corner:)
We received some FUN packages this week for Valentines Day with some Gift cards and some crafts which will keep miss Katie busy for awhile. Thank you everyone!
She LOVES getting mail. Every time she sees a package - she says... "package for Katie!"
She is doing well and we are trying hard to keep preparing her for when brother baby comes home. She came with me to my last appt. so if you ask her what his heartbeat sounds like... she makes a whooshing sound that is JUST like what it sounds like on the machine.
This kid is a genius. I mean... I know all parents say that - but I'm dead serious - she's super smart and it's almost scary. We have full conversations now - and she can even remember when I tell her that we need something from the store - so when we go to the store she reminds me. She can tell you who gave her certain presents from her birthday party. She looked at a picture taken at my aunts house the other day and said... Uncle Louie's and Titi Millie's house, we go there sometimes. She also looked at a picture of my cousin Nick and said - from Uncle Louie's and Titi Millie's house...
Her new favorite things to say are..... "but I need this" or just for a little bit - like "Want to watch tv just for a little bit before naptime" or want to play tea party just for a little bit.
She is quite the social butterfly and LOVES her playdates with her friends.
She also has perfected the way that Dave says Damn it and the way that I say Stupid and I know you aren't supposed to laugh but it makes me almost pee my pants every time. She uses it in the right context and tone and everything.
Hopefully we'll have some pics to post later of Brother Baby's new space:)

Updates!

We have been busy! Mommy has been getting over a nasty cold and feeling VERY VERY pregnant and uncomfortable. Katie has been on and off with her napping and wanting to go to bed very late and we have also completely rearranged the apartment to make space for brother baby.
Katie and I have been crafting like CRAZY. I think it's some sort of nesting or something like I feel like I have to get as much crocheting done before he comes or something because I'm obsessed.
In the past month, I've made 2 scarves for an order, brother babies coming home sweater and hat, a matching scarf for me, a a tea set for Katie, 2 beanie hats for Jessica's baby, a red cowboy hat for Katie (which she won't wear) a scarf for me and some other things I can't remember!

I introduced Katie to stringing macaroni for necklaces and it was a big hit. She made one for her, then one for Ba ba and then one for me. The next day she made one for Dave and then a few days later I let her paint some macaroni to make another one... She REALLY liked painting them.

I get Crochet Today - it was one of my favorite birthday gifts last year and when it came this week - I was looking through it and Katie saw the tea set and asked me to make it... so I made her a green tea pot and yellow cups. You are supposed to put flowers on it, so I put a few on one night and then I asked Katie if she wanted me to make more for it and she told me, "No mommy, that's ok - there are plenty of flowers on it." so, they are kind of plain. I think she picked some of the ugliest colors of yarn that we have... but I let her pick them out - and she LOVES THIS TEA SET. She is obsessed again with tea parties.
I also made her a Jessie hat from toy story - but she won't wear it... so it was a wasted day at this point = but that's ok. Today I am making her a bigger version of the beanie hat I made for Jessica's baby because she asked me for one, I'm doubtful she'll wear that one either but it's ok!
Katie came with me to the doctor today and he said everything looks good and there really isn't much that can be done for being so uncomfortable besides taking it easy - yay. We go back in 2 weeks for another check up and then one week after that we get our final ultrasound and then very soon after that, he will make his first appearance...
Katie is still eating cereal like a 15 year old boy and we still don't have a name for brother baby. We do however, have his clothes ready and washed and some diapers and wipes and I have started packing my hospital bag just in case.
Happy Monday!
