How we found out:)

On the plane ride back from our San Francisco adventure (http://www.oursfexperience.blogspot.com/) Dave and I started talking about wanting to start thinking about having a baby. We talked about it for probably half the plane ride back from Las Vegas and at the end of the discussion, we had decided that we thought it was a good time to start trying and see if we would be lucky enough to add a baby to our family.

When we got home in April, we started all the preliminary planning of taking pre-natal vitamins and going to the doctor. I even went to the dentist because everyone says you shouldn't go when you are pregnant, so I wanted to make sure I was all set:)

I went to see the doctor and she was delighted to hear that we were ready to add a baby to our family. (Our doctor is a bit weird, and was always telling me how I was built for babies)

In Mid-May, we went to Mobile, Alabama for Luke's First Birthday Bash with the Murphy/Paynes. While we were gone, it was supposed to be that time of the month for me... and every day we were down there... nothing happened.

So, every day... Dave and I would laugh at the idea that we could possibly be cookin a little peanut - but never really taking it seriously- after all it had only been one month.

The week went by, and still nothing, so slowly and sneakily, I stopped having coffee, or alcohol or anything I thought could be bad if we were in fact pregnant.

Everyone got colds while we were down there, so we were all tired and napped alot, so we didn't think anything of the fact that I was sleeping too. Plus we were very busy visiting New Orleans and all of Lukes family in Mobile.

We hadn't told anyone yet that we were trying, so we had to keep quiet until we could find out ourselves.

We got on the plane to come home, and still nothing. We were dying to get home to take a preganancy test to be sure, because we both really couldn't believe that it was true.

The plane got delayed... and I was so nervous and anxious.

We finally got home after a very nice vacation and I stopped for something to drink for the car ride and as soon as we got back inside and said goodbye to the Paynes, I ran to the bathroom to take the test.

Let me tell you, in the movies, it takes forever for the little plus or minus sign to show... NOT SO for me.. .It was an INSTANT +.

We still couldn't believe it. We were so happy and excited but thought there was no way... so we went to bed and I tried again in the morning... just to be sure - and sure enough I got another intant positive.

And so our journey began!

We wanted to wait until we got the all clear from our doctor, so we didn't tell most people until around the 9th week mark, after the doctor had seen the heartbeat for the second time.

Here are the first pictures of our baby!!!
