Breakfast with Elmo!!!

Today we had to wake Katie up early so that we could hop in the car and drive to our favorite place to have Breakfast with Elmo and Friends and play at The counts Spook-Tacular.
We got there before they opened because the breakfast starts at 9:15 - so there was a small crowd forming at the gates... This is Katie yelling OPEN, OPEN, OPEN at the gates....

As soon as we got through the entrance, we got to go to the dine with me cafeteria. As you can see we didn't even get her jacket off before she was off and running up to every character there. It was well worth the early morning and the $35 - if only we could have gotten a picture of her face when she realized they were all there in the same room!!! We had a hard time getting her to sit down to eat!

Big bird can't walk around so he stays sitting on his stool and our table was right in front of him - which is perfect since he is Katie's favorite.... (even though she won't exactly watch him on the show.... go figure)

They have a buffet breakfast which was not that great, however the characters come around to the table and sit and play with your kids. PLUS, our breakfast was not nearly full so the characters had all kinds of time to walk around and visit with the kids. Bert came over and played with her by pretending to drink her water.... she was actually kind of shy once they came to the tables... but she kept saying.... bert, ernie, bert, ernie.
Then they have the picture set up (so they can sell you pics) so we waited in line and sent her over and she ran right over to elmo gave him a big hug and then sat on his lap.

Can you see the baby bump in this one?
She also spent a lot of time in the toddler pit running around like crazy and playing with the oversized blocks. She asked to go on the tea cups - which we did twice and then we went to see Elmo's World Live which was about halloween. They had fall/halloween decorations everywhere and a trick or treat scavenger hunt you could do. Some of the characters were dressed in costume too... it was awesome - I love halloween as it is... but being at Sesame and seeing the kids in their costumes walking around made it really feel like fall.

Katie had a blast, and so did we. Unfortunately, I didn't eat well enough and now I feel like crap.... so I have been in and out of bed since we got home with severe nausea and a headache... boooooooo - but it was worth it - because we had a great day. And Dave is great and watches Katie while I recover... so we all win.

Here is our conversation at dinner when I asked Katie what we did today... It's amazing how well she speaks and what she remembers and can tell you - it still shocks me sometimes.

Happy Saturday - I'm headed back to bed.
