The Park

We have been to the park 2 times a day since Tuesday when it was nice enough for it to open!

Katie now realizes that the "fun" part with the swings and slides and things is on the opposite end from where we live - so when we try to get her to walk in the grass near our house - she points towards the gated play area and goes MO???

The first day - she was hesitant about all of it.... there were other kids who knew what they were doing and were older so she kinda watched.

Then she started trying to climb up the slide by just standing up and walking - that was fun.
I started by going down the slide with her - but it's very slow and you don't really shoot off the end so I let her try it herself by holding her hand and realized that she could do it and there was very little danger of her flying off like in America's Funniest Home Videos. So, now she knows to sit at the top and schooch her butt to the end to slide down.

Today she finally crawled through a tunnel they have there (before she would get in and then back out right away) and she also started crawling up the steps to get to the slide herself.

The last two days I took her out after nap and Dave met us there after work - so today when we went in the morning she kept going Dada?





Here she is in her SUPER COOL outfit that Cousin Kathy brought back from her cruise to Aruba... I had to cut the top near the neck to get her monster head through it - but otherwise it's ADORABLE. Once we get the new camera we will post better pics... I'm still mourning the loss of our old one and was trying to go on a saving money kick... but a camera that takes good pictures is kind of an essential item for us...
Happy Spring Everyone! Our plans are to head up to Maine in April to visit all of our Metcalfe family, but otherwise stay pretty close to home as Katie is still having sleeping issues. We did however buy season passes to Sesame Place so we plan to frequent there a lot this summer as her swimming lessons have gone very well!!!!
