Little Sponge

It's so true what they say about kids being like little sponges. Katie soaks something new up, practically every day!

She has now added Elmo, her keys, and her rubber ducky to things she can identify from last week. She can clap her hands together - and if you go.. YAY!!!! She will stop what she is doing and clap.... whether you are clapping or not. She learned how to give kisses and hugs today and it's just the SWEETEST Thing! (don't ask her for a kiss when she's eating, cause it would be YUCKY!!!!!)

She still loves her books and every day I try to work with her to teach her something else to remember. It's amazing to watch her wheels spinning while she figures it out.

Example of our exchange.
Mommy: Katie... can mommy have your duck?
Katie... desperately looking for the duck... hasn't seen it yet
Katie... Claps her hands until she sees the duck - or points to the bee on her farm of turns the light on on her farm.
Mommy... laughs hysterically at Katie's clever diversion!!!!

She also learned how to mooo today as well as "warm up" her vocal chords.

We are having a grand old time with her... except that she has gone on a food strike and doesn't want her baby food anymore and doesn't really want finger food anymore either unless it's what you are eating... so since we can't really give her what we are eating yet, we are struggling with mealtime.
