Baby Parade

Dave saw in the paper that our town has an 86 year old 4th of July tradition - the Baby Parade.
Apparently due to budget cuts, it was canceled this year, but people protested and it was re-scheduled - so we packed the kids up and decided to go check it out.

You paid $5 as a donation to the local food pantry and were given juice, water, and a number - then they had different categories - best marcher, most original, best overall, best float, etc... it used to be HUGE on dressing up and costumes, but we weren't sure and decided to go last minute, so we just got them dressed and headed out.

There were about 20 entrants maybe from ages newborn to about 5.

Katie won BEST MARCHER!
(granted, there weren't many kids walking because most of them were in strollers, but still she marched high step in front of the judges and clearly made a mark!)

She won a hat, a savings bond, a lollopop and a ribbon.

ALL in all it was an AWESOME morning and now on to some 4th of July grilling and relaxing:)
