Being Sick and HEART Projects

What a few weeks we have had. Katie seems to have never gotten better from her cold from Thanksgiving week. This week we had the worst of it.
Long story short, we ended up thinking Katie had a Urinary Tract Infection, which is apparently VERY Common in kids, especially newly potty trained girls.

So, we have had the pleasure of sleepless nights, crankiness, whining, not eating and just general fun with her.
Then it got worse and she stopped peeing and started saying it hurt.

So I had the pleasure of collecting my first urine sample from her. We went to the doctor which is always fun with Katie and then were prescribed antibiotics because the doctor said no matter what she is fighting something and they would help.

So, last night was day 2 of antibiotics and the first day she instantly was acting better... then last night it was like she OD'd on speed and she refused to nap and also has been up since 2 am and is still going strong. (it's 9:54 am right now) We get the lab results back today that will tell us if we have to continue the medicine or if we can stop it.

On top of all of this, I have been getting Braxton Hicks contractions too often for our liking - they tend to go away once I sit down and relax but last night they started just from me brushing my teeth. So... since it's christmas eve and I have a doctors appointment on Monday, I am on self/dave-induced "bed" rest until the appt on Monday. If I get more today, I will call the doctor but he's just gonna tell me to take it easy - so that's our game plan for the next few days.

Lucky for me, Dave is home ALL next week and can do stuff around the house and with Katie.

On a GOOD/HAPPY note.. Katie is a Craft-a-holic. She calls them HEART projects and wants to do them ALL DAY/EVERY DAY. She's going to make us bankrupt with the amount of stickers and such that we have to provide for her. The good thing is that the dollar store across the street has foam stickers sometimes, so I will go and BUY them out of stock next time I go in as she goes through them at alarming rates.... but it makes me happy cause now I have a crafting partner:)

Merry Christmas everyone! We are so excited for tomorrow morning and will post pics as soon as we can:)
