Katie Loved Sesame Street - in fact it was the only show she paid any attention to and it allowed me to shower - or clean up without interruption - so I thought it was an innocent godsend.
Then I started thinking, maybe she could use a different show to change it up a bit so I showed her The Wiggles on Demand - little did I know I was creating a monster!!!!
She loves it and in fact, this morning at 6:45 - looked at me from her Tinker Bell arm chair and requested it by doing their signature hand sign. (demonstrated above!)
It's very clever and fun but the only downside is it's only 16 minutes long - and that's not enough for her - so throughout the day, we have to turn it on multiple times for her to get her fix. (it's been VERY rainy for the past week - so unfortunately it's been a big TV/Wiggles week)
Luckily, when it's nice out, she loves going outside more than TV - so she doesn't mind not watching it.
So, in preparation for our Maine trip - I purchased a Wiggles DVD and CD for the car ride - as Katie has decided she doesn't like sitting in the car for any extended period of time. We are also in the process of getting a portable DVD player... We got Barnes and Noble Gift cards for Easter from Grammie and Grampa - and they came in VERY handy for this:)
yes, I know - I said I would never do it - but when you know you have a 6 hour trip ahead of you and you know your child WILL NOT sit through it on her own - you decide you will do anything you have to in order to make the trip possible.
We know she won't sleep well while she's there because she boycotts when we travel, but at least we can try to make the drive less painful for her and for us:) Not even 15 months old and will have her own personal dvd player - all of course, before I purchase my replacement camera because I can't see spending the money on both at the same time - and I feel the DVD player is way more important at this point in time!!! The things we do for our kids, right?
BA BA update!
We have successfully introduced "back up" BA BA
we took the original out of rotation so that "back up" could catch up on wear and tear - so far she doesn't care - although the other day, Dave left it on the top of her bookshelf where he didn't think she'd see it and she demanded I take it down for her - so for about an hour - she was in BA BA heaven with both of them! she carried them both around and sat them on her couch - and then when she was over it, I snuck the original away - back into hiding:)
That's what's been going on at our house! We are excited to come up and see everyone in Maine and hopefully we have sunny days until that trip - so that the munchkin and I can get outside every day to play:)

haha that's so cute with both of her Ba-Bas! Jake saw the Wiggles and was totally into them but luckily isn't much of a TV kid either. The Wonder Pets, however, are adorable and I can handle them much better than the Wiggles!
