First Steps

Yes, that's right... this weekend... Katie decided she would take her first steps all by herself. She has been traveling all over the house holding onto EVERYTHING in sight.. and she was starting to get brave enough to let go and stand on her own for a few seconds at a time and then she took a few steps before she fell down.

She did the same thing the next day... and tried it again today. She doesn't get far... but she has no fear so we just watch her extra carefully now and will try to have the video camera handy!

Aunt Judy in Maine sent her these really cool board books about buses and she LOVES THEM. She can already point out the bus, helicopter, cows, tow truck in them and she only got them Saturday. She will sit down amongst her LARGE pile of books and just hold them up to you one by one for you to read to her. She points to things and waits for you to tell her what it is... it's very cute and very tiring:)

Here I am at my new favorite place to hang out... in front of the window. I started out looking for daddy at night but now I stand here all the time and look at everything. My favorite is when the squirrels go by on the power lines.

And here is my final trick of the day. Grumps taught me how to "beat my drum" like from Lucy and Ricky...
